The Curse of the Gambler: When a Hobby Turns into a Life-Ruining Addiction

By admin

Once upon a curse, in a land far away, there lived a young princess named Aurora. She was known for her beauty, grace, and kindness. However, on her sixteenth birthday, an evil fairy named Maleficent placed a curse upon her. According to the curse, Aurora would prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep. Fearing for their daughter's life, the King and Queen ordered all spinning wheels in the kingdom to be burned. Despite their efforts, the curse could not be avoided.

I love time-travel, and although I had one major problem with it (see below), the time-travel in this book was executed nicely, if not as Back to the Future-ish as it could have been. Baker continues to use her characters in such a way that absurd situations never seem absurd, just humorous. Every character is used for some sort of humor, and it makes the whole story very fun to read (the fight with the dragon is especially humorous).

I also like how Eadric doesn t really take center stage at all and how Emma s position as the Green Witch compromises their relationship the premise of the next book, where Emma must gasp. Many years ago, a slighted fairy placed a curse on a beautiful young princess - a curse that caused her and all her female descendants to turn into mean, ugly witches if they ever touched a flower after turning sixteen.

Despite their efforts, the curse could not be avoided. On her sixteenth birthday, Aurora came across an old woman spinning thread in a secluded part of the castle. Curiosity got the better of her, and she touched the spindle.

Once upon a Curse

A USA Today must-listen romance! Will the prince's kiss be enough to revive her frozen heart? Don't miss Gathering Frost, a dystopian romance from best-selling author Kaitlyn Davis that reimagines the classic fairy tale of "Sleeping Beauty". "I wish I could say I was the hero of the story. A resister. A rebel. Someone who lived to bring an end to the queen who stole my childhood, my mother, my life, my very world. But I'm not. I'm not the good guy. I'm the one who puts the good guys in their graves." Jade was only a little girl when the earthquake struck. Before her eyes, half of New York City disappeared, replaced by a village that seemed torn out of a storybook. Horses and carriages. Cobblestone streets. A towering castle. And, above all, a queen with the magical ability to strip emotions away. Ten years later, Jade has forgotten what it is to feel, to care. even to love. Working as a member of the queen's guard, she spends most of her time on the city wall staring at the crumbling skyscrapers of old New York. But everything changes when the queen's runaway son, Prince Asher, returns. Under his relentless taunts, her blood begins to boil. Under his piercing gaze, her heart begins to flutter. And the more her icy soul begins to thaw, the more Jade comes to question everything she's ever known, and more importantly, whose side she's really on.

As predicted, she fell into a deep sleep, and the entire kingdom was also put to sleep. Years passed, and a brave prince named Phillip, who had heard tales of the sleeping beauty, set out on a quest to break the curse. Guided by a magical pixie named Flora, he fought through the thorny forests surrounding the castle and made his way to Aurora's chamber. Overcome by her beauty, Prince Phillip could not resist kissing her, breaking the curse. With the curse lifted, Aurora and the kingdom woke up from their slumber. The prince and princess were soon married, and they lived happily ever after. However, the curse taught them an important lesson about the power of love and the consequences of actions. Reviews for "The Curse of the Wicked Queen: Examining Villains in Fairy Tales and Folklore"

1. Sarah - 2 stars - Once Upon a Curse was a huge letdown for me. The concept seemed promising, with a modern twist on classic fairy tales, but the execution fell flat. The characters felt one-dimensional and lacked development, making it hard to care about their fates. Additionally, the pacing was slow, and the plot felt predictable and cliché. I had high hopes for this book, but it ultimately failed to deliver an engaging and captivating story.
2. Mark - 1 star - I couldn't even finish reading Once Upon a Curse. The writing was incredibly dull and lacked any creativity. The dialogue felt forced and unnatural, and the descriptions were lackluster. I found myself constantly wanting to skip pages just to reach the end. This book had so much potential, but it was a complete disappointment. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting and imaginative fairy tale retelling.
3. Emily - 2 stars - Once Upon a Curse was a forgettable read for me. The plot felt disjointed and lacked coherence. The storyline jumped around without any logical progression, and I often found myself confused and uninterested in what was happening. The romance aspect of the book was also underdeveloped and lacked chemistry between the characters. Overall, this book lacked the depth and creativity needed to keep me engaged, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.
